Tips

Because we realize the tremendous financial investment of a new carpet installation, Snyder's Carpet Care wants to provide you with some helpful tips that will not only keep your carpets cleaner longer but also when there is an accident, hopefully you will find our experience helpful. If you have any questions or if our tips don't provide resolutions please feel free to contact us at 972-898-3886.

Door Mats:

By placing doormats both on the outside of the door and on the inside, anything that may get tracked onto your carpet is now trapped by the mats. In addition, if used consistently, your doormats will also assist to protect your delicate carpet fibers from dulling and abrasion due to high traffic.

Furniture Rearranging:

By rearranging your furniture periodically, you are changing the traffic patterns, thus allowing wear to distribute evenly. When you are rearranging your tables and other furniture, you are likely to see indentions where the furniture existed. Don't worry! This can be easily corrected by spraying a very light mist of water to the area and using a carpet pile brush, you should soon see the indentions disappear.

Household Chemicals & Other Color-Destroying Products:

Chemicals such as bleach, household cleaners, medications, and cosmetics can permanently have disastrous effects on your carpet fibers. Often some of these products become "mystery stains in that you may not see the discoloring for day’s even weeks. So be sure to be careful. It will save you a lot of money and hassle in the future!

Regular Vacuuming:

Unlike dirt, vacuuming regularly will not hurt your carpet! Even if you are using mats and rugs dirt still gets embedded into the fibers and results in discoloring and matted carpet. Up to 80% of the dirt is actually dry and will easily remove if vacuumed consistently. It is recommended to vacuum your high traffic areas at least once a day. While your lower traffic areas can be vacuumed once a week, also make sure you are keeping your vacuum cleaner well-maintained. Check the bag regularly. If it is half full, get another one and be sure to check for worn belts and brushes. If they are worn, then you will not get the optimum results from vacuuming.

Home Remedies:

DO NOT attempt to remove a stain with an over-the-counter stain remover. Though they are supposed to be designed for stain removal, they may still have a negative effect, which could result in making the original stain that much more difficult to remove. If you do spill something on the carpet, blot it gently with a clean wet towel and then if the stain still exists, please contact Snyder's Carpet Care at 972-898-3886.

Again, we hope you have found our advice above helpful. If have any questions or we can assist you in any way, please don't hesitate to call us at 972-898-3886 or you can email us at sales@snyderscarpetcare.com.
